VEGAS BABY... PT 1 BAMBOOZLED!

We arrived in Vegas Tuesday night. Brooklyn had plans to spend all day with her friend Carli, who lives in Henderson. All morning I was calling/texting all my friends, which isn't many any more, to see if someone wanted to meet me for lunch.
Linda didn't answer, Lindsey had a working lunch, no one home at the Brown's. Oh well, they all know I am here for just a few days - I was almost getting hurt. But all hope was not lost, I still had Holly. My mom was coming in from Utah to visit us for the day. Nice of her, I thought. So Mom, Holly, the Boys and I went to lunch. Pretty uneventful day. I was meeting up with Becky for dinner at one of my favorite dirty pizza places in Henderson, we set the time to meet at 6:00. Holly takes a shower and gets pretty for the grocery store - I thought maybe she just needed to feel good about herself, my mom bought a new shirt and purse to wear while she was there, nothing to unusual. They head off to the grocery store. I try to leave with them, not wanting to be late and have to hang out with Mark! : )
Becky calls the house as I was outside. I was mildly annoyed. She knew I was leaving right now...why is she calling the house!?!?! UGH! So we RE-Verified plans and I was on my way. I was hotter then snot, sweating all day. Did I mention it was 110 - give or take 10 degrees my entire trip with min. 30% humidity (as high as 50%) while I was there. So pretty much I wasn't looking cute. We get to the Enzo's pizza, Becky is pointing out airplane flight patterns to me and asks me if I want to go to Trader Joe's. If I wanted Trader Joe's I would have gone....but I went to be a good friend. We walk around almost aimlessly. We finally get to Enzo's we take a seat towards the back of the restaurant, I didn't want to go to far back there were balloons and stuff, I told Becky, "Let's take this table because it looks like there is a party back there." Ok, so we sit down, I start looking at the menu. I see a girl staring at me smiling, I say, "Becky, that looks like Bailey Patterson." Linda's daughter, Becky has never met her before. The girl keeps staring at me smiling...She's a little weird I think.
....OK so my clueless alarm is going off full force!
The girl is now giggling and I divert my eyes, it is a little dark and dank back there and my contacts were very dry so I wasn't sure I was seeing right. Then I catch a glimpse of Holly...I said "Hey, that looks like Holly" Becky, "Hmm...oh, really?" me "yeah, that's coincidental." We stand up to investigate since the little girl who looks like Bailey Patterson is still smiling and giggling at me. We walk around the wall and HOLY CRAP! My friends are there! That giggling little girl, who I thought needed to be medicated - was Bailey Patterson! Her mom Linda was there, my Mom, my second Mom Connie Brown and her daughter Jana, my marathon runner friend Lindsey, who is also pregnant was there, Holly and Becky too. Still oblivious to the reason everyone was there. I thought they had decided to get everyone together to visit with me, it wasn't until Holly I think pointed out the gifts and balloons when I realized it was a baby shower for me! I never never never thought that I could be surprised! Especially to this extent. No one even knew Lindsey! How did they get her there? Well Lindsey lives 3 blocks away from Holly and Holly had asked me what her name was weeks ago - I didn't know it was so that she could find her! HAHA
So all through dinner I was shocked! My shock was growing as I was realizing that I had been lied to all day throughout the day! Jeremy really didn't want Becky and I to go to dinner to hang out alone. Becky really didn't care so much about the airplanes and Trader Joes, it was all a distraction so I wouldn't see Holly and my mom parking and walking in with balloons! Linda wouldn't take my calls because she was afraid she would crack. My mom wore a new shirt to go shopping with Holly? Lindsey's working lunch was really a go buy a gift lunch! Oh geez! I was so clueless! Becky calling the house was to stall me so Holly could get a head start on me. I still laugh when I think about it. How funny! The best gift I got was being surprised! I think the masterminds were Holly and Linda and I still never figured out how they got in touch with each other! Don was clueless too - or I would have known about it.

My ONLY complaint is that NO ONE gave me the nudge like...Hey you maybe wanna brush your hair...maybe a little mascara..shower even?? Haha so I look like crap in the pictures! Actually I only have these few pictures of the event I was too busy being shocked! You will have to wait for Holly's post for the better pictures. It was such a great time! Lots of laughs, good food, good friends.
I loved it! Thank you Holly and Linda and Becky and who ever else was involved! It was awesome!
