Today was a much better day for Brooklyn! When I picked her up today she was in much better spirits! She was out playing hard. She is the one in the green socks. She is easy to spot out there!

She told me today that the kid who called her fat yesterday was trying to get her ball from her as she was walking holding it, he kept punching it and punching it and she was telling him to stop, then he missed and punched her arm. I got a bit nervous at what she was going to tell me next, then she told me that she grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him close to her face and said, "Don't you EVER punch me again!" the influction she uses when she tells the story is hysterical! She said that he just got a scared look in his face and walked away. This last year she has really found her voice in sticking up for herself and others, scares me sometimes she usually out smarts people and it is pretty funny, she told a kid last Friday at a day camp I had sent her to, he was being a jerk to her and her friend and he said "I will knock you unconcious" she said "excuse me?" him again, "I will just knock you uncounsious." her response is great "Oh yeah? Then I will end up in the hospital and that would really make my parents mad! And then my parents would sue your parents!" We wouldn't sue, but it cracked me up still the same! So yesterday these bully boys just caught her on an emotionally unstable day. I still worry about her and her getting her feelings hurt. That is the worst thing that a kid has to go through. But through these experiences she is gaining quiet a sense of self and confidence. I do sometimes worry that she will come home one day with a black eye when she pops off to the wrong person. I guess that is a lesson she will learn if it happens!

She came home today completly wooped! She woke up this morning complaining of sore leg muscles and then today it was even funnier, when I was on the phone to Holly, Brooklyn was trying to get off the couch and was making the funniest noises ever! Moaning and groaning. She needed/wanted help getting her cleats and shin guards off because she couldn't move her legs!
She also has gotten quite a bit of sun on those cheeks and shoulders. Sunscreen is rendered in effective no matter how much you apply and reapply when you are outside like that all day.

I love this face! It is precious!

Thank you all for your comments and concern about her wellbeing! I am sure that she will come out of it even stronger! But yesterday did suck. For this reason I think having boys would be easier! Guess I won't know though, huh?

She's such a touch cookie. I love it. I doubt he will pick on her again!
Her noises yesterday were so funny. I could hear her groaning with every move she made. hahaha
Go Brooklyn! Good for her!
Erica, Brooklyn has to be one of the funniest kids ever. She always gives me this look like, "Why are you talking to me?" I LOVE that she grabbed that boy by the collar and scared him off.
You go girl!!! Good for Brooklyn. Glad she put him in his place. Tell her Bailey says she's proud of her too and to keep up the soccer!!! Bailey's trying out for a new team and has 2 hours of practice Mon, Tues and Wed. She has practice again tonight and a scrimmage game tomorrow. Sat she has an indoor soccer game. Sunday we rest....
