Don't call it a mud hut

Brooklyn's last project in school was an Indian project. We read books and she wrote a short paper on them. Lastly it was to build your Indian's dwelling. She had the Pawnee Indian and they lived in an Earth Lodge...Don't call it a mud hut!

She is a perfectionist - big time. She wanted to do this project all by herself, we had talked to her about ways to build her mud hut, she had her own ideas in mind. She wanted to make the earth lodge using really just mud, sticks and grass - after all that is the way that the Indians did it. She tried several attempts and of course it wouldn't support the weight on top and would collapse. Increasing the frustration level. Finally, after several days and as many unsuccessful attempts at the hut, we talked her into using craft foam under the mud to have a support.
Turned out pretty well. Don't cha think?

WOW, nice hut! I cant believe she actually made some trial runs before the real deal. what a good student!
You can tell your kitchen looks really nice by the way you can see a bit of your counter & cabinets in the pics.

The first several were not intended to be trail runs, with every roof collapse she got increasingly more frustrated! : )
I love that you commented on my kitchen, when you can only see a sliver of it.
Thanks! It is 100% better then it was~
